Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee chairman Zaka Ashraf will travel to Durban on Sunday to attend International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting.
Sources told Geo News that Ashraf will leave for Durban from Lahore. The meeting is scheduled from July 9 to 16.
Champions Trophy 2025's hosting rights will be top on the agenda of PCB delegation. Ashraf, who will be accompanied by COO Salman Naseer, will put forward strong stance related to hosting the Champions Trophy completely in Pakistan.
Moreover, PCB team will also meet other boards' representatives.
ICC meeting's agenda
Important issues like the annual report and future plans will be discussed in the board and executive meetings.
The ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2024, which is scheduled to take place in West Indies and United States (US), will be discussed in the meeting. The ICC will look at the infrastructure for the World Cup in the US and all the matches will be scheduled depending on that.
It must be noted that it will be the first time a major ICC event will be held in the US.
Asia Cup 2023, which will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka after India accepted Pakistan’s hybrid model, will also be a topic of discussion among the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) members.
